Our Worship Service Schedule

 

The First Baptist Church of Dexter is located off Rt. 7 on Main Street Hill in the heart of Dexter. At the traffic light turn up the hill. We are the church with the large white pillars behind the Post Office. Childcare is provided.

We recently finished a series from Jeremiah entitled: “When Tough Times Come.”  This past summer we studied some of the character qualities of a Christian, often called the 8 Beatitudes.

 

This fall we have been looking at the great heroes of the faith through a study of Hebrews chapter 11.  You may view sermon PowerPoint presentations or read a few of the pastor’s sermons on line.

Da Vinci Code Teaching Series

Pastor Jay completed a 4 part teaching series: Cracking The Da Vinci Code which is now online, including the PowerPoint for each presentation.  You may also request the audio tapes of this series, as well as a free booklet.  These resources give biblical answers supported by history and archaeological evidence to questions such as:

     Was Jesus married to Mary Magdalene?

     What are the “lost books” of the Bible?

Youth Group  - Youth Group meets every Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Everyone is welcome. If you have questions call Youth Group Directors, James and Jessica Mosher at 739-9085 or email them at: mosherfive@gmail.com

 

Bible Day Camp  - This past summer we finished another successful Day Camp program in partnership with Child Evangelism.   More than 75 community children were involved throughout the week.  Many thanks to parents and volunteers who helped with various aspects of the program.  Watch highlights on our YouTube Video.

 

During the school year we help sponsor, through Child Evangelism, an after school programs for elementary age children.  For more information on these Good News Clubs call Benita Rudmin at: 924-3444 or the church at: 924-7167.

 

Youth Sunday School Classes – Every Sunday at

9:15 A.M. to 10:10 A.M. for grades Pre-K to 12th. The church provides bus transportation for those students needing a ride to and from Sunday School. Call the church at 924-7167 and leave a message that contains your name and where you live or need a ride from. .

Power Surge Worship   On the second Sunday of every month we have begun to  provided our young people the opportunity to lead worship in a style that is upbeat, sometimes a bit LOUD but always gives God GLORY!

 

We are looking for musicians who would like to participate in a Praise Band. Those interested may contact Bekah Doughty 564-2890

 

E.T. Guild Women's Mission Group
This group of women meet to prepare cloth squares and other White Cross items to be sent to the Philippines and other mission groups around the world. They meet on the first Wednesday of each month.

Parents of At Risk Teens
"I have a prodigal..." are hard words to admit. Are you the parent of a child that is turning their back on God and their relationship with you? We are considering starting a support group ministry of First Baptist that gives guidance and support to parents of prodigal teens. If you are interested in a group that would provide support, prayer and encouragement, we would like to hear from you. Please let us know of your interest, e-mail us atabcdex@kynd.net.

Instrument Players Wanted
Do you play the trombone, trumpet, violin, guitar or some other instrument of do know someone who does? If so, we would love to talk to you about our worship team ministry. Community Cantata Singers Needed
